Ecommerce Website Quote Template

An online store is mostly product data and checkout rules, not page design. Price product entry per item and variant, list every payment and shipping setting you will configure, and keep platform and app subscriptions billed to the client directly, outside your fee.

What to put on the quote

  • Platform and plan, theme (bought or custom) and who holds the store account.
  • Number of products and variants included, and the format the client sends data in.
  • Payment methods, shipping zones and rates, and the sales tax settings the client confirms.
  • Monthly costs the client pays: platform plan, paid apps, transaction fees.
  • Policy pages (returns, shipping, privacy): who writes them.

Common mistakes

  • A flat price for the store, and then 800 products arrive with five sizes each.
  • Paid apps on your own card, until you become the client billing department.
  • Skipping test orders, so the first real customer finds that shipping to Alaska is free.
  • A custom theme so tightly built that the client calls you to swap a banner.

Deposit, balance and validity

A 50% deposit to start, the balance once test orders pass and the store is live. Product data or photos received after the agreed date move the launch, and products beyond the agreed count are billed per item. Quote valid for 30 days.

Questions people ask

Shopify or a custom-built store?

For most small catalogs a hosted platform is quicker to launch and cheaper to run; custom builds make sense for unusual pricing or heavy integrations.

Who pays the monthly platform fees?

The client, on their own account. The quote lists the expected plan and app costs so the first bill is no surprise.

Can you move our products from another platform?

Usually by export and import. The quote counts the products and says what does not carry over, such as reviews or customer passwords.
