What to put on the quote
- System size (kW), panel and inverter models.
- Estimated yearly generation and the assumptions behind it.
- Roof condition, structural check and mounting method.
- Permits, grid connection, monitoring app and warranties.
Common mistakes
- Promising savings without stating the assumptions.
- Not checking roof condition before quoting.
- Leaving grid connection fees and timelines vague.
Deposit, balance and validity
Typical: 10–30% deposit, a progress payment on delivery of equipment, balance after commissioning. Estimate valid for 30 days because equipment prices change.
Questions people ask
Should I show payback?
If you do, state the electricity price and yield assumptions on the estimate.
Who applies for grid connection?
Say whether you handle it and whether fees are included.
What warranties apply?
List panel product and performance warranties, inverter warranty and your workmanship warranty separately.
