Blinds & Curtains Quote Template

Window treatment quotes go out from workrooms and installers after a measuring visit, and every window can be a different product. List each window with its width, drop, fabric, fullness and hardware, so the client can drop a room or downgrade a fabric without waiting for a new quote.

What to put on the quote

  • Each window by room: width, drop, inside or outside mount, and the product chosen.
  • Fabric name and color, lining (blackout, thermal), heading style and fullness.
  • Hardware: track or rod type, finish and brackets, and whether fixings need to go into studs.
  • Whether a motor, remote and power supply are included, and who handles any wiring.
  • Lead time for made-to-measure items and the policy on remakes.

Common mistakes

  • Letting the client measure for custom drapes, then paying for the remake.
  • Quoting a fullness that looks fine on paper but skimpy once hung.
  • Forgetting that a motorized shade needs power near the window, and leaving that work unpriced.

Deposit, balance and validity

Made-to-measure items need a 50% deposit with the order, and fabric cut for the client cannot be returned; the balance is due on installation. A re-measure after the client changes the window or mount is charged as a new visit. Quote valid for 30 days.

Questions people ask

What does fullness mean on my quote?

It is how much fabric is used compared with the track width; 2 to 2.5 times gives deep, soft folds, and less looks flat.

Inside or outside mount for shades?

Inside mount looks neater if the recess is deep enough; outside mount blocks more light and hides uneven frames.

Can I keep my existing rods?

Yes, if they are sturdy and long enough; the quote then drops the hardware line and notes that hardware is client-supplied.
